The best genius is a dead genius. We invite you into the company of dreamers, whose dreams…are sometimes somewhere realized.

The Czech theatre scene is taking notice of SKUTR: the unusual directorial team comprised of Martin Kukučka and Lukáš Trpišovský.

After presenting their controversial graduation project Disco Pigs throughout the 2003 season at Divadlo DISK, Archa Theatre’s director Ondřej Hrab invited the team to work in the nascent Archa.lab program that was preparing projects dealing with internet communication. It was this program that fuelled the extremely successful show Nickname which impressed sold out crowds at Archa and the audiences of prestigious festivals in Belgrade and Vilnius.

Now SKUTR has come out with another equally powerful show inspired by the work and fate of Hans Christian Andersen—Understand. Using acrobatics, dance, physical theatre and live music, the show presents a world of beautiful fantasies and terrifying neuroses that can be difficult to distinguish.
It is easy to see that the actors Rostislav Novák, Adéla Laštovková Stodolová, Josef Rosen and Dora Kršková Terrazas have been training daily for almost two years for this show.
